現在20歳、ドイツに生まれ育った日本人ピアニスト。2021年、スイスで開催された権威あるクララ・ハスキル国際ピアノ・コンクールで優勝、および聴衆賞ほかも併せて受賞した。またデュッセルドルフで開催されたロベルト・シューマン国際コンクール（2019）、およびイェネ＝タカーチ国際コンクール（2018）でも優勝しており、2014年にはワイマールで開催された「若いピアニストのためのフランツ・リスト国際コンクール」では第2位を受賞。
2014年にドイツの青少年音楽家コンクールで満点および第1位となったことでカール・ベヒシュタイン財団からの奨学金を獲得。ドイツ各地のホールからオファーを受け演奏するようになる。2019年以降ロンドンのウィグモア・ホール、デュッセルドルフのトーンハレ（ゾイ・ツォカヌー指揮デュッセルドルフ交響楽団と共演）、ワイマールハレ（マルクス・L・フランク指揮のイエナ・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団と共演）などで演奏している。最近では、サンクトペテルブルクで開催された第16回マリインスキー国際ピアノ・フェスティバルに招待された。現在ドイツ奨学金を得ている。
来シーズンはクリスティアン・ツァハリアスが指揮するホーフ交響楽団とベートーヴェンのピアノ協奏曲第4番を、また同じくクリスティアン・ツァハリアスが指揮するポルト・カーザ・ダ・ムジカ管弦楽団とモーツァルトの2台のピアノのための協奏曲KV365を演奏する予定である。また、クララ・ハスキル国際コンクールの開催地ヴヴェイではヴヴェイ・クラシック・フェスティバルに出演しリサイタルを行う。
2001年デュッセルドルフで生まれ、デュッセルドルフのロベルト・シューマン音楽大学にてバーバラ・シュツェパンスカのもと音楽の教育を受け始め、ロンドンのパーセル音楽院ではウィリアム・フォンに学ぶ。2021年からはワイマールのフランツ・リスト音楽大学においてグリゴリー・グルズマン教授のもと研鑽を積んでいる。
Yumeka Nakagawa, piano
20 year old German-Japanese pianist Yumeka Nakagawa is the latest first prize winner of the prestigious Concours International de Piano Clara Haskil 2021 in Switzerland where she also received the Audience Award and Children’s Corner Award. Prior to this she had already been awarded the first prize at the International Robert Schumann Competition 2019 in Düsseldorf and the International Jenö-Takacs Competition 2018 and the second prize at the International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists in Weimar 2014.
Upon receiving full marks and first prize at the German federal Jugend Musiziert Competition in 2014, Yumeka was granted a scholarship by the Carl Bechstein Stiftung which led to invitations from numerous venues across Germany. From 2019 onwards she has appeared in venues such as the Wigmore Hall in London, Tonhalle Düsseldorf accompanied by Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zoi Tsokanou and at the Weimarhalle accompanied by Jena Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Markus L. Frank. Recently she was invited at the XVI Mariinsky International Piano Festival in St Petersburg and she is a current recipient of the Deutschland-Stipendium.
In the upcoming season Yumeka will perform Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto with Christian Zacharias conducting the Hofer Symphoniker and Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos KV 365 with Christian Zacharias and the Orchestra Sinfonica do Porto Casa da Musica in Porto. She will also return to Vevey, where Clara Haskil Competition is held, for a recital at the Vevey Classic Festival.
Yumeka was born in 2001 in Düsseldorf and started her musical education with Prof. Barbara Szczepanska at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf and pursued further studies with Prof. William Fong at the Purcell School of Music in London. In 2021, she started her bachelor’s degree at Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar with Prof. Grigory Gruzman.
