Hello dear friends in Japan.

 I’m delighted to invite you to welcome you to my forecoming recital in the hall of the

Bulgarian embassy in Tokyo.

 And I’ve just played you a snippet of the piece which I’m going to play, which is Frederick

 the people united will never be defeated variations this was one of the variations and

 in fact two years ago in 2023 i was supposed to play in the same hole the same piece but

 unfortunately due to health reasons i had to change the program because this is a very draining and a

 very emotionally challenging piece and I’ve coupled it with Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata

 because I think Beethoven and Zdzewski share a lot of similarities in terms of spirit and in terms of

 the way they express themselves with the utmost raw and natural way they can muster. So

 So really pleasure to invite you to this concert on the 23rd of October.

日本の皆さん、こんにちは。

このたび、東京のブルガリア大使館ホールで開催される私のリサイタルに皆さまをご招待できることを、大変うれしく思います。

いま少しだけお聴きいただいたのは、当日演奏する曲の一部で、フレデリック・ジェフスキー作曲《不屈の民は決して敗れない》変奏曲の一節です。実はこの曲は、2年前の2023年にも同じ会場で演奏する予定だったのですが、健康上の理由でプログラムを変更せざるを得ませんでした。この作品は非常に体力的にも、そして感情的にも負荷の大きい作品だからです。

今回はこのジェフスキーの作品に、ベートーヴェンの《月光ソナタ》を組み合わせました。というのも、私はベートーヴェンとジェフスキーには精神性の面でも、また自己表現の仕方という点でも多くの共通点があると感じているからです。どちらも、ありのままの、そして極めて純粋な表現で音楽に向き合っています。

それでは、10月23日のコンサートで皆さまにお会いできるのを、心より楽しみにしています。
